Illuminar beat Aristocracy in a three-map series that went to the 29th round on the decider to secure a spot in the Games Clash Masters final against Sprout.
Aristocracy won the pistol round to take the lead on the CT side of their map pick, Mirage. After a clean anti-eco win, they lost the first gun round to a fully equipped Illuminar, also in a round that Paweł "innocent" Mocek and company won without losing a player. Illuminar then went on to take the lead, 4-2, but were unable to hold on to it as Aristocracy went on to win several rounds in a row to go up 6-4, then winning against a forcebuy to further their lead, although they only managed to end the half up by one round, 8-7.
Aristocracy were then able to bag the second pistol round, as well, but with Oskar "oskarish" Stenborowski at the helm and the rest of his teammates also stepping up, Illuminar took control on the CT side, thwarting Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas and his team’s offensives to close out the first map of the series, 16-10.
Illuminar won their first pistol round of the match on the attacking side of Overpass, but then lost against a forcebuy before winning a forcebuy of their own. Aristocracy didn’t let up, making it 2-2 and breaking their rivals’ economy to take the early lead, 4-2. Illuminar managed to win stray rounds throughout the half to keep it close, going into the second half down by only one.
Aristocracy kept their lead on the attacking side by winning the pistol round, but with guns out it was Illuminar who were able to stop an A play to keep it close on the scoreboard. Both teams then went neck and neck, but it was finally Aristocracy who were able to win a crucial round, up 13-12, to break the CT side’s economy and go on to close the map out, 16-12, pushing the series to a decider.
Illuminar were first out of the gate on the decider map, winning the CT-side pistol round, but once again the beginning of the map was scrappy as both teams won the ensuing forcebuys. With Paweł "reatz" Jańczak leading the way, Illuminar took a steep 6-1 lead, but Aristocracy closed out their attacking side without wavering and bringing it to within one, 7-8.
The second half started with Illuminar once again getting the pistol, as well as the following two rounds to take a 10-7 lead, before Aristocracy retaliated with three of their own. Illuminar then once again took control, and made it to match point, 15-11, but were unable to close it in a 1vs1 that Jacek "MINISE" Jeziak won the duel against oskarish. It was finally in the 29th round that Illuminar were finally able to close it after winning a 2vs2 afterplant on A, making it 16-13.
